Admeco AG Medical Engineering

ADMECO company history

The company evolved from the AlloPro AG, from 1968 to 1983 a manufacturer of artificial joints. Together with the latter´s customers, Pierre van den Wildenberg, founder of ADMECO AG, developed laminar flow booths to permit the implantation of prostheses under clean conditions. Observations and experiences in this field moved Pierre van den Wildenberg to develop better operating theatres than the ones he frequently encountered. Since 1984, ADMECO AG has produced concepts and products for state-of-the-art operating theatres, recovery rooms, intensive care units and private surgeries.

Over the last 35 years, ADMECO has developed from a local manufacturer of operating theatre air-flow systems to the only supplier in the world of complete OT concepts (development, production, assembly). Central to this development throughout had been the vision of a two-zone approach in the operating theatre (sterile OT protection zone and non-sterile peripheral zone). ADMECO with its partners across the globe is still the only supplier in the world to offer complete OT concept solutions to date.

Since 1 January 2020, 25 employees under the umbrella of the SCHAKO Group from Kolbingen, Germany, have been responsible for ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of doctors and patients throughout the world. Particular emphasis in this is given to cooperation between individual departments: ADMECO AIR (OT Outlets), ADMECO LUX (Surgical lights) and ADMECO MED (Energy supply bridges). This close cooperation guarantees that requirements of modern operating theatres or doctor's surgeries are met with millimetre accuracy and cost efficiency, while achieving the highest levels of protection.

The company is based in Hochdorf, Switzerland.
